About this Course

This unit addresses the skills and knowledge required to develop, promote and review workforce diversity. It covers the development, promotion and evaluation of the effectiveness of workforce diversity strategies.

Learning Outcomes

1. Review organisation diversity

  • Identify key issues and charactersitics of diversity to support the devleopment of diversity management strategies
  • Identify key stakeholders to in the process to gain commitment and support for diversity management initiatives
  • Establish links to existing activities and programmes that may support the further development and implementation of workforce diversity activities
  • Document activities to be included in diversity management strategy

2. Promote diversity in the organisation

  • Facilitate the development of policies and procedures targeting specific diversity needs within the organisation
  • Consult with stakeholders to review the alignment of human resource services, programmes and activities, making changes or modifications as required
  • Provide support to stakeholders to implement diversity strategy
  • Manage individual and departmental relationships so that positive outcomes for individuals, teams and the organisation are achieved 

3. Evaluate diversity management strategy

  • Identify criteria to evaluate the performance of diversity management strategy and define specific measures to be used
  • Support the development of processes and systems to gather measurement data and feedback
  • Monitor internal and external influences and trends that may impact on diversity strategy
  • Analyse data to refine diversity management strategy
