Legal Requirement

The Construction Safety Orientation Course, CSOC is a mandatory WSH training course for all workers working in the construction industry. Construction workers are required to go through the CSOC before they start work at the worksite. The Workplace Safety and Health (Factories ,Safety Training Courses order – clause 2 (6) stipulates that Any worker employed in manual labour to carry out construction work in building and engineering construction worksites must undergo a safety and health training course approved by the Commissioner for Workplace Safety and Health.


Target Audience

Construction workers and any workers who need to enter a construction worksite.


Course Overview

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Recognise the common safety hazards at construction site

Know the preventive measures to be adopted

Confident in working at height

Understand the importance of observing safety sign and safe work procedures

Know their right and responsibilities

Recognise the common safety and health hazards

Takes precautions to avoid injuries and diseases in the construction sites

Accident case studies

Developing a positive attitude towards safety.

Good housekeeping practises

Occupational diseases and injuries at worksites

Measure to prevent accidents

 

Validity of the Certificate / Pass: 2 to 4 years depending on work experience
