o enable a candidate to achieve knowledge of the Anatomy & Physiology of the human body. Why Study body parts, the function of body parts and how they relate to one another? How can a Massage therapist benefit from learning Anatomy and Physiology studies? Well, first and foremost, this knowledge allows you to discuss with your client intelligently when talking medical terms like clavicle, sternum, nervous system and muscle groups and how they work together. Secondly, massage is wellness. Study of Anatomy and Physiology will help you perform treatments with an awareness to the body and how it can stimulate further wellness so that the body can heal itself. Wellness industry although is not the same as medical field, but knowledge can raise the perception of the client towards you as a professional therapist. Clients will see you as a health care professional who knows medical terms and feel more comfortable to be treated by you in a massage. Upon completion, you should be able to name and locate various organs and system in the body and understand how these structure interrelate and work as a whole in our body.
