This course is meant for General workers in the chemical industries.

Objectives

This course is designed to create awareness on the hazards of chemicals and their safe handling among general workers in industries. At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Describe the classes of chemicals and their hazards
Explain and apply safe practices in the handling of hazardous materials.

Hazard identification system
Safe practices and precautionary measures
Identification of unsafe practices
Case studies of industrial accidents in Singapore
Singapore Workplace Safety and Health Act
Knowing the Safety Data Sheets
Handling chemicals safely
Knowing your personal protection equipment
