Post-Diploma Certificate in Essential Clinical Skills in Palliative Care (for Nurses only) Module Synopsis History Taking and Physical Assessment This module teaches comprehensive history taking and systematic physical assessment of patients. It also equips participants to analyse and state the clinical implications of abnormal routine lab results. Emergencies in Oncology/Palliative Care This module covers emergencies encountered in oncology. The topics include common treatment-related cancer symptoms and their management. Clinical Nursing Skills and Complementary Therapy This module aims to enable participants to refine their nursing skills and enhance their knowledge in caring for terminally ill patients, who require specific procedures to optimize comfort levels. It allows the participants to explore and appreciate common complementary therapies utilized by the local patient population. Clinical Consolidation This module aims to build participants therapeutic communication and counseling skills towards oncology and palliative client. It also guides the participants in making ethical and legal decisions especially when handling end-of-life issues.
