About this Course
Disaster might occur anytime, so we must be prepared. Business continuity refers to the activities required to keep the organisation running during a period of displacement or interruption of normal operation. Disaster Recovery is the process of rebuilding your operation or infrastructure after the disaster has passed. The aim of this workshop is to equip participants with a basic knowledge of what to do when a situation arises that result in the disruption of services.
Objectives
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to;
- Describe how an organisation develops a disaster recovery and continuity planning philosophy as well as a disaster recovery/continuity plan
- Explain how to organise the disaster planning team
- Describe how an organisation puts its plan into effect including development of an Implementation Plan, assessing the value of mitigation steps, assigning responsibilities for implementation, establishing an implementation schedule and training employees
- Define how to capture the knowledge and experience gained during an actual disaster
