About this Course

This training unit provides learner with generic knowledge and application skills in using Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA) techniques. It covers the principles and the method for the identification, implementation and follow up of FMEA methodology. This unit provides learners the opportunity to apply, demonstrate and practise the skills learnt in applying the FMEA techniques. This is one of the Specialisation Electives that leads to the award of WSQ Statement Of Attainment (SOA) in Generic Manufacturing Skills WSQ (Quality Systems). Objectives This course aims to provide the learner with generic knowledge, principles and application skills in Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) techniques. The learner is expected to be equipped with the following skills upon completion of the course: · General understanding of failures and failure mode theory. · Identification, implementation and follow up of FMEA methodology. · Application and practice of skills in FMEA techniques. · Identifying and assessing the actual and potential failures in product and process designs.
