About this Course
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Business Contributes to the development of a culture of enterprise in Singapore and other parts of world, and supports efforts to improve economic and community wellbeing. Studying business enables students to appreciate the issues that challenge business and stakeholders. The Program is designed to introduce students to a wide range of business discipline at a high level of study. The program includes aspects of finance, marketing and management to facilitate an understanding of the role of business in today’s commercial world. The Advanced Diploma in Business aims at those who have an interest and passion for Business and Management course and prepare them for a career in business & management and progression to further study. Upon completion of this program, students should be able to learn and conform to accepted academic practice and integrate into undergraduate study. Students should be able to demonstrate skills and knowledge to progress to either year 2 or year 3 at undergraduate level.
MODULE STRUCTURE
The course consists of 23 modules amounting to a total of 966 contact hours for the full-time pathway and 690 contact hours for the part-time pathway. The programme is delivered over 30 months for both the full-time and part-time pathways.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Local Student Admission
Academic level: 2 GCE ‘O’ level or Equivalent/ 3 GCE ‘N’ level passes with at least one year working experience
English Language Proficiency: At least a pass in English ‘N’ Level or Equivalent
Mature students above 21 years of age with secondary school education and working experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis
ASSESSMENT AND GRADING
At the commencement of each module, students will be provided the assessment mode and weightings for the module. Students are assessed based on a combination of formative and summative assessments in each module. A student is deemed to have completed a module when he/she successfully passed both written examination an assignment components.
GRADUATION CRITERIA
Student must pass all prescribed modules (with the exception of exempted modules) with grades Distinction, A, B+, B, C+,C,D+, or D and meet the minimum attendance requirement of the programme for local and international students.
PROGRESSION PATHWAYS
Upon successful completion of this programme, graduates may gain entry to the final year of Bachelor Degree in Business Studies of University of South Wales (subject to universities’ entry requirements).
