Course Description

The WSQ Advanced Certificate in Security Supervison is a competency based training programme targeted towards security supervisors that are deployed at various locations or events to perform supervisory roles. The respective modules would equip the learner with Supervisory skills to manage and facilitate the work of a team of Security Officers. Full certification requires the learner to complete 4 core units and 3 elective units. The completion of this programme automatically qualifies the learner for the WSQ Diploma in Security Management. 

The course comprises of 7 modules, incorporates the theoretical and practical aspects to supervise security operations in the workplace. At the end of the course, participants will be subjected to a summative assessment to test their competencies on the respective subjects taught. The assessments are based on role plays, oral questions and written assignments.

Who should attend:

Security Supervisors, auxilliary police officers of the rank of Sergeant or Staff Sergeant or any person managing a team of security officers or any security officer managing one or more security officers.

Learning outcomes:

1. Be able to supervise security officers - 3 days, Core

2. Be able to assess and address security risks - 3 days, Core

3. Be able to perform supervisory duties within legal framework - 4 days, Core

4. Be able to induct security personnel - 2 days, Core

5. Be able to perform monitioring and reporting duties at central command centre - 3 days, Elective

6. Be able to perform security command centre activities at client’s premises - 3 days, Elective

7. Be able to lead and manage a team of security officers - 2 days, Elective

Duration:

May be able to complete within 6 months

Timings: 0830hrs to 1730hrs

Entry requirements: 

Secondary Two (English) or WPLN level 6 or at least 2 years working as a security officer or have completed WSQ Certificate in Security Operations (the latter  need to complete only 6 instead of 7 modules )
