About this Course

Aim & Objective

This course is aimed at providing the students with knowledge and skills required to prepare them for performing task at technical level in a computer environment In addition, the course will impart general knowledge to enable the students to contribute positive to society.

Course Structure :

ADCS consists of following 8 subjects

•           Business Systems Analysis

•           Business Systems Design

•           Enterprise Networking

•           Database Design and Development

•           C++ Programming

•           Internet & Intranet Security

•           Internet Systems Administration

•           Practical Business Management

•           Practical Project

Course Duration : 18 Months

Admission  Requirements

  • Age limit 18 yrs and above  and
  • Successful completion of Diploma in Computer Studies in Addison Institute (or)
  • Should finish ‘O’ level, two or more years proven experience in the   Information Technology.
  • Other equivalent qualifications deemed suitable by Addison Institute.
  • Applicants without English proficiency must pass Addison Institute English Proficiency Placement Test prior to admission.

Program Synopsis

Business systems Analysis :

This module aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills to progress from the gathering of the initial requirements for a complex system through to a tested system, which delivers the desired functionality.

Business Systems Design :

This module syllabus provides the knowledge and skills for the development of a software system from initial requirements through design; implementation and testing to a complete , well documented product.

Enterprise Networking :

This module syllabus provide students to get knowledge to understand the networking options that are available to a business, to evaluate the business’s requirements for data and voice networking and to determine the most appropriate networking solution to meet the requirements.

Database Design and Development :

This module syllabus provides the students to develop a sound theoretical understanding of database concepts and the key skills in database design and development.

C++ Programming :

This module syllabus explain the C++ language from its basics up to the newest features of C++, including basic concepts such as arrays or classes and advanced concepts such as polymorphism or templates. The tutorial is oriented in a practical way, with working example programs in all sections to start practicing each lesson right away.

Internet & Intranet Security :

This module syllabus provides the appropriate theoretical knowledge and practical skills for Internet and intranet based systems.

Internet Systems Administration :

This module syllabus provide students with the theoretical underpinning, and intellectual and practical skills that will allow them to develop and maintain complex internet-based systems.

Practical Business Management :

This module syllabus provides the students to understand the principles of effective management techniques and competencies. The module covers organizational and people issues, and stresses the importance of managing corporate information and finance effectively.

Practical Project :

This module requires a student to develop a practical computer-based system for an external customer, following professional software development and implementation practices. The students will be able to use practically a wide range of knowledge gained from other modules in the programme and their research.

Assessments and Award

* For theory Modules, students are assessed based on coursework/project/examinations.

* For practical modules, students are assessed based on presentation & dissertation /project components.

* Examinations are typically conducted in the months of April, August and December.

* Upon passing exam for all 8 subjects and a practical project , Addison Institute will award students ADCS certificate.
