About the course:

This course is designed to equip participants with the skills necessary to handle a relatively simple fire incident which might happen anywhere in the workplace. These skills will allow participants to handle a fire incident in a cool and calm manner and execute steps to extinguish the fire. The fire incident should be small and be simple to contain. In addition, learners will also learn the proper way to handle a fire extinguisher and about several precautions to take for fire hazards.


Target Audiences:

•Premises storing only diesel in underground tanks.

•Public and Industrial premises with Fire Safety Manager (FSM).


This course is for Company Emergency Response Team (CERT), Fire Safety officers and staffs who are first to respond to fire incident in workplace.

Attaining competent in this course will enable the CERT to meet the requirements under the National CERT standard.

Entry Requirements:

Learners are assumed to:

1.Able to listen, read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ES Workplace literacy and numeracy level 4.

2.Relevant work experience to the workplace they would like to be a part of.
