About this Course

Audience:

Industry personnel who would like to be an Assessor to assess Work-At-Height (WAH) activities.

Course Overview:

The aim of the course is to provide course participants with the requisite knowledge to assess Work-At-Height activities so that work is carried out properly and safely. Participants must have completed and passed the Work-At-Height for Supervisors course.

After the course, participants should be able to identify, explain and apply the relevant Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Legislations / Approved Code of Practice / Singapore Standards applicable to Work-At-Height activities.

  • Identify and explain the roles & responsibilities of a Work-At-Height Assessor
  • Identify hazards, evaluate the risk, and implement control measures for Work-At-Height activities
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of Fall Prevention Plan.
  • Evaluate whether the control measures implemented on site for Permit-To-Work (PTW) are adequate and effective

Course Outline:

  • Legal requirements, Approved Code of Practice and Standards For Work-At-Height
  • Roles and responsibilities of different personnel under the Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) -Work-At-Height (WAH) Regulations
  • Hazard identification and risk evaluation for WAH activities
  • Implementation of control measures for Work-At-Height
  • Fall Prevention Plan (FPP) & its components, including emergency response for Work-At-Height
  • Implementation of Permit-To-Work (PTW) for Work-At-Height

Pre-requisites:

Participants must have attended and passed the Ministry of Manpower’s Work-at-Height Course for Supervisors.

Assumed Skills and Knowledge

Participants who signed up for this course are assumed to have the following skills and knowledge:

  • Ability to carry out hazards identification, risk assessment, and risk control measures
  • It is also recommended for the participant to have achieved WSQ ESS WPLN 5 or above

Duration:

11.5 hours (including assessment)

Schedule:

Day 1: 8.30AM – 6.30PM

Day 2: 6.30PM – 9.30PM

Competency Criteria:

Attendance – 100%

Written Assessment – 60%

Practical Assessment – Competent
