About this Course

USE OF MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY IN WORK PRACTICES This module aims to equip trainees, who may be taking on the role of a pharmacy support worker, with the skills and knowledge to use the correct terminology in interacting with healthcare professionals. This module also equips trainees with the skills to explain basic medical terms and acronyms in interactions with patients and next-of-kin. At the end of module, trainees should be able to identify and use commonly used medical abbreviations, apply basic medical terminology in oral and written form in interactions with healthcare professionals, and explaining simple medical terminology and abbreviations in simple terms to patients or next-of-kin in accordance with organisational procedures.
