Course Objectives :

- On completion of this unit, learners will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the duties of a supervisor working in a confined space. 

- Learners will be taught on the practical approach in using various tools, tactics, tips and know-how, contextualized to the needs of different sectors, including building and engineering construction services. 

- Learner will also acquire a deeper skill set as they learn how to match these skills to different situations and have the knowledge and expertise at their disposal. 

Course Content / Outline :

- Identify duties and responsibilities of a Confined Space Supervisor under the WSH Legislations and Codes of Practice 

- Identify, prevent and control confined space hazards 

- Carry out and comply with the requirements of the Confined Space Entry Permit System using a systematic approach 

- Apply Gas Detection Instruments and other control measures when working in confined space 

- Implement the safe use of personal protective equipment and respiratory protective equipment when in a confined space 

- Assist in implementing an Emergency Response Plan 

Entry Requirement :

- Learners will be able to listen, read, speak and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) Level 5. 

- They will be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ESS Level 5 

Course Duration :

- 3 days course (Day 1 & 2 : 0900 to 1800hr) 

(Day 3: 0900 to 1400hr) 

- Total 21 hours including 3 hrs of assessment. 

- 5 evening course (1800 to 2230hr)

Assessment Mode / Examination :

There will be written questioning and practical performance (Case Study).
