About this Course

Organisation can minimise the effects of risk on its capital and earning through the process of planning, organising, leading and controlling its activities. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) aims to measure an organisation’s achievement of four primary objectives; Strategic, Operational, Financial Reporting and Compliance.

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is the process which organisations identify, measure, manage and monitor all key risks in the organisations to ultimately meet business objectives and increase value to stakeholders.

The workshop is a foundation level risk management course which provide participants with a comprehensive insight and understanding of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).  It should be especially useful for those in corporate finance, treasury and risk management.

  • Why Manage Risk: Positive and Negative Effects of Risk (Minimising Exposure to the Wrong Risks versus Increasing Exposure to Good Risks)

Overview of Corporate Risk Management (Enterprise Risk Management - ERM):

  • Basic ERM Infrastructure: Concept and  Evolution of ERM;
  • Common Approaches to Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) by Organisations
  • CAS Framework, AIRMIC Framework and COSO Framework of Identification of Risk and Enterprise Management Objective, Assessing Risk, Managing Risks
  • Principal Strategies and Methods and Finally Monitoring Risks

Implementation of ERM At Corporate, Strategic Business and Project Levels:

  • Identification of Risk and Setup of Management Objectives
  • Sources of Risks/Type of Risks, Tools and Techniques, Risk Aversion, Risk Policy, Risk Tolerance and Risk Appetite, Creating Value from Risk Taking/ Risk Hedging and Risk Management Process

Implementation of ERM at Corporate, Strategic Business and Project Levels  (Continue):
