The Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology aims to equip students in their career pursuits as IT Engineers and professionals within the IT-related fields in a variety of organisations. Students will learn web-based technologies and tools enabling to manage systems in a networked environment.

Programme Module Synopsis :

Object Oriented Modeling and Programming

This course aims to provide knowledge on object oriented design techniques and to develop object- oriented applications in Java. This will cover the complete life cycle of software development and implementation.

Data Modeling and Distributed Database

This course aims to explore the advanced theories, distributed database design and management, concepts of Database Design and application of data mining techniques.

Computer Communications and Internetworking

This course aims to give students practice in installing, operating, and managing networked computer systems and networking equipment. Configure local area network technologies and protocols such as TCP/IP.

Web Media technology

This course allows students to create interactive multimedia items using web media technologies and create their own illustrations and animations using xhtml and html on the web.

Developing Interactive Websites using XML and web services

This course will focus on adding streaming multimedia capacity to Web sites to implement interactive websites for audiences. This is much narrower than the un it title would suggest.

Software Development Tools

The aim of the course is to introduce the advanced tools commonly available in various operating systems and to build programs from component parts.

Full-time 10 months / Part-time 14 months

Each lesson is 3 hours and is conducted in a classroom setting at Informatics Campus.
