About this Course

The course aims to equip the participants with knowledge and skills required for a holistic approach to facilitate timely intervention, referral and management to enhance the health and well-being of at risk adolescent and youth. Communication in a helping relationship (30 hrs) This module focuses on the techniques and skills required to establish the helping relationship with adolescents and youths. They will also learn the approaches involved in counseling and undertake activities that will enhance their competence. SDAYH-13Health Education and Health Promotion (45 hrs) This module provides an overview of health education and health promotion interventions and practices in adolescent and youth health. It offers a comprehensive view of health promotion principles and its relationship to health promotion activities and programmes. Practicum in Adolescent and Youth Health (75 hrs) This module provides participants with learning opportunities to develop and apply skills appropriate to the roles and functions of the school health advisors through attachment to schools and other youth welfare agencies.
