About this Course

Post-Diploma Certificate in Network Systems [150 hours] Focuses on the design and implementation of large enterprise networks and their broadband network interfaces with the Internet. Module 1: Advanced Routing & Switching Technologies [60 hours] This module provides the participants with the essential knowledge and skills in advanced network routing and switching technologies for the planning, design, and deployment of a large-scale enterprise network. Topics covered include advanced IP addressing management, scalable network routing, IP multicasting, high availability technologies & techniques, enterprise network segmentation, IPv6 routing protocols (OSPFv3 & BGPv4) and IPv6/IPv4 co-existence/transition (ISATAP, Stateless IP/ICMP Translation, 6RD and NAT64) solution implementation. Module 2: Next Generation Broadband Networks [60 hours] This module prepares the participants in deploying and integrating next generation broadband networks. The module focuses on the technologies and implementation techniques in wireless broadband network, passive optical network and virtualised network infrastructure. Techniques in managing and testing the networks’ Quality of Service (QoS), applications’ Quality of Experience (QoE), Software Defined Networks and wireless standards IEEE 802.11n and 802.11ac will also be covered. Module 3: Network Systems Project [30 hours] The objective of this project is to build up and enhance the students’ advanced networking knowledge and skills through real-life network implementations. In this module, the students will be given a large multi-site enterprise network scenario whereby they are required to design and implement an IPv6 network based on routers, switches, servers and essential network services, as well as its connectivity to the ISP network via advanced routing protocols.
