About this Course

The programme is targeted at ICT professionals & engineers in telecommunications, wireless communications, software/IT, networking, as well as infocomm infrastructure, services and solutions providers. Applicants should have a degree or diploma in electronics engineering, communications engineering, computer engineering, information technology, computer science or other relevant disciplines. On completion of the programme, the participants will be equipped with practical expertise in the design, implementation, management, analysis and security of large enterprise networks. The course will also provide participants with the necessary knowledge and exposure to emerging technologies and developments in the infocomm industry. Post-Diploma Certificate in Network Management and Analysis [150 hours] Focuses on the post-implementation management, analysis, and security of large enterprise networks. Module 1: Network Management [60 hours] This module equips the participants with essential knowledge and skills in network management and security in large enterprise networks. Topics covered include Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), OpenFlow-based virtualised network management tools, firewall, router & switch based security, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Intrusion Detection & Prevention System, (IDS/IPS), Network Admission Access & Control Technologies, Data Leakage Prevention (DLP), collaborative services and mobile device management and compliance enforcement. Module 2: Network Performance & Analysis [60 hours] This module prepares the participants in the performance and analysis of enterprise network operations for effective performance monitoring, base-lining, and fault detection. This module also covers the essential analysis of transport and application layer protocols. Participants will learn the practical skills in using various network performance management systems and protocol analysers to diagnose troubleshoot and restore network operations. Module 3: Network Management and Analysis Project [30 hours] This module aims to enhance students’ knowledge and skills in network management and analysis. Students are required to plan, design and implement a secured enterprise networks according to the given technical specifications. The students will learn how to apply security policies and network management concepts, and perform functional tests in the process of project development.
