Post-Diploma Certificate in Mobile Enterprise and Security Enterprise Mobility Mobile Security Cross Platform Application Development Project Enterprise Mobility This module equips students with the core knowledge of mobility solutions with a strong focus on enterprise usage. After completing the course, students will be able to define comprehensive mobile strategies for organizations, taking into considerations cost optimizations, scalability, security issues, policies and compliance, as well as business domains. Topics taught include mobile device management, mobility solution architecture and cloud computing considerations for enterprises. Students will be exposed to an end-to-end scenario of enterprise mobility from the connection of data sources from backend ERP systems to cross-platform application development as well as comprehensive testing and deployment techniques. Mobile Security This module is structured into two parts. The first part starts with the emphasis on the imperatives of information security in today’s inter-connected world. Topics in cryptography covering types of encryption and decryption algorithms, message digest, digital certificates, Public Key Infrastructure and key management concepts are taught next. It proceeds to cover pillars of information security including confidentiality, integrity and availability concepts, information security risk and trust management as well as data classifications and access control techniques. The second part of the module covers security provisions for the existing voice and data protocols used by the carrier networks, including GSM, 3G, 4G, LTE, VOIP and WIFI. Security models of prevalent mobile operating systems, such as Apple’s iOS, Google’s Android and Microsoft’s Windows Phones are discussed next to provide a good foundation in secured mobile applications development. Students will learn best practices in developing secured mobile applications for enterprises and lifestyle uses for selected device platforms. Secured configurations and user provisioning will also be covered. The module ends with discussions on the latest development and future trends in the mobile technology space. Cross Platform Application Development Project As smartphones and tablets become more ubiquitous, the proliferation of different devices posed a challenge to the development and management of mobile services and applications especially in the enterprise environment. This project will provide the context for students to propose mobile app strategies based on real-world, commercial scenarios and work in teams to design and develop innovative mobile applications through the use of hybrid technologies that can potentially create new value for organizations.
