Post-Diploma Certificate in Management of Facilities Module Synopsis Managing Facilities This module provides participants with the knowledge to prepare and compile tender documents, manage projects, prepare, submit and resolve contractual claims, read financial statement, analyze cash flow, life cycle costing and appraise projects. The above knowledge will be referenced to the law of contract and torts, the Building Maintenance and Strata Management Act, and other building legislations. Sustainable Facility Management This module covers sustainability issues relating to the development of our built environment, the sustainable and green building design concept and its impact on building performance and maintenance, indoor environment quality, energy and water efficiency and waste management. These topics arise because facilities are great users of water and energy and are responsible for greenhouse gas emissions and waste. Security and Risk Management This module equips the participants with the knowledge to identify security risk, workplace safety and health management/hazards for different organizations and physical environment, apply appropriate risk assessment and management techniques and hazards control measures. Knowledge of building performance is included to assess risks due to building defects and deterioration.
