About this Course

This AutoCAD Electrical training course covers the tools and techniques necessary to create intelligent title blocks for Autodesk® AutoCAD® Electrical. Participants will gain an understanding of how to structure the title block as well as the tools necessary for automatically populating the title blocks with information. This session also include a review of creating and using AutoCAD Attributes.

  • A Review of AutoCAD Attributes
          - Creating new attributes
                    - Attribute Tags
                    - Attribute Options
                    - Placing attributes
          - Filling in attributes manually
          - Creating a block with attributes
          -The Explode command and attributes
  • Creating Title Block Specific Attributes
  • Editing the wdtitle.wdl File
  • Configuring the .wdl file.
  • Setting up the title block
          - Method 1 – Using wdt files to control the title block
                    - Using Project Specific wdt files
                    - Using default wdt files
          - Method 2 – Using the WD_AT attribute to control the title block
  • Mapping lines from the .wdl file to the title block attributes
  • Filling in project properties
  • Filling in sheet properties
  • Using the Title Block Update Tool
          - Updating the title block using the project properties
          - Updating the title block using the sheet properties
          - Re-sequencing Sheets
          - Updating Sheet numbers
  • Update all title blocks in the project
