Nitec in Technology - Social Media and Web Development (Part-Time)

  

About this Course

This course provides students with the skills and knowledge to support development and maintenance of interactive web content, set up and maintenance of content management system as well as integration of interactive media to ensure effective interactive experience and efficient display of information.

Course Structure

Module

Digital Media Fundamentals

  • On completion of the module, students should be able to edit image, texture, video and audio using media processing techniques.

Web Authoring 

  • On completion of the module, students should be able to create HTML documents, design simple web pages using authoring tools and perform browser compatibility tests.  Students should be able to verify the web contents that meet the technical protocols and standards (W3C).

Software Development and Programming Fundamentals

  • On completion of the module, students should be able to analyse application requirements and develop programs for interactive and animated applications.

Interactive Authoring

  • On completion of the module, students should be able to develop interactive applications on different platforms.

Mobile Web Development

  • On completion of the module, students should be able to develop and deploy responsive interactive web applications.

Interactive Application Project

  • On completion of the module, students should be able to create, test and deploy interactive application project.

Credit for Certification

Total of 38 credits from successful completion of 6 modules.

Entry Requirements

  • 2 GCE 'O' Level Grades (Grade 1-8) in any two subjects; or
  • 3 GCE 'N' Level Passes (Grade A-D or Grade 1-5) in Mathematics and two other subjects; or
  • WDA's Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 5 in Speaking and Listening and Level 4 in Reading and Numeracy.

Note:

1) The training schedule of lessons is subject to change.

2) Depending on demand, not all the modules in the CET Nitec in Technology courses will be offered in each intake. Where the modules are offered and there is insufficient enrolment, the classes will be cancelled and a full refund will be given to the affected students.

Training Schedule

Evening classes – Lessons are held two evenings a week, from 1845 hours to 2145 hours.

Weekend classes – Lessons are held once a week, from 0900 hours to 1600 hours.
