Acquire the skills and knowledge for installing, testing, troubleshooting and upgrading of security systems.

Acquire knowledge and skills which are highly relevant to the industry

  • Install and configure wired and wireless network devices.
  • Set up wired and wireless local and wide area network.     
  • Install, upgrade, configure and maintain surveillance systems.
  • Install, upgrade, configure and maintain intrusion detection systems.
  • Install, upgrade, configure and maintain access control systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting on security equipment.

Progression Opportunities

Nitec in Security Technology graduates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics. 

Nitec in Security Technology graduates with a GPA of 2.3 and above may also apply for progression to related Higher Nitec courses offered by ITE.

Career Prospects

Nitec in Security Technology graduates are employed by companies that provide security system solutions. Some of the job titles held by graduates include Security Systems Technician, Service Technician and Systems Technician.
