Have you ever wondered what it takes to design a computer, phone or any other electronic product?

In the Nitec in Product Design course, you will learn the fundamental skills in the creation and design of consumer goods  such as consumer electronics, furniture and lifestyle goods.

  • Conduct design research.

Progression Opportunities

Nitec in Product Design graduates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics. 

Nitec in Product Design graduates with a GPA of 2.3 and above may also apply for progression to related Higher Nitec courses offered by ITE.

Career Prospects

Nitec in Product Design graduates are employed by companies in the creative industries. Some of the job titles held by graduates include Assistant Product Designer, Product Illustrator and CAD Modelers.  The strong foundation in creative skills, technical proficiency, social and environmental understanding and a keen insight into customers, supports a design professional with a wide choice of rewarding career options to look forward to.

There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions and beyond. This challenge is for students to upgrade their technical skills and knowledge by taking up higher-level courses.

Entry Requirements

To apply for the Nitec in Product Design course, you need to have:

Completed GCE 'N' or GCE 'O' Level

*Note: Applicants applying for this course must ensure that they do not have colour-appreciation deficiency and must attend an interview and pass a drawing test for admission.
