About this Course

Despite significant efforts to improve engineering practices and technologies, software intensive systems continue to present formidable risks and difficulties in designing, construction, deployment and evolution. To address these difficulties, there is now more focus on the earliest period of design, decision making and evaluation, increasing referred to as architectural level of system development. This course explains the architectural concepts with emphasis on the software qualities (security, availability, performance and maintainability). By combining lectures with scenario based workshops, the course prepares the mindset of students to build robust, secure and maintainable architectures. This course is intended as a short course for the public and suitable for those who want a holistic view of the IT landscape, aspiring for roles as Application/Solution Architects. Project Lead, System Analyst and Software Engineers can take this course to have a more complete view of the software development lifecycle
