Introduction

The LCCI IQ Level 2 Diploma in Business Studies combines a range of mandatory and optional subjects to allow learners to comprehensively demonstrate their knowledge, skills and ability in this area.

Admission Criteria

• Be at least 16 years old of age upon enrolment.

• Have at least 5 GCE ‘O’ Level.

Course Details

Book-Keeping and Accounts (IAS) Level 2

As a progression route from Level 1 Book-keeping, this qualification builds on the knowledge and skills developed at that Level. The qualification is targeted at students who are working, or preparing to work, in an accounting environment where they will be expected to maintain financial records and prepare accounts with some Level of autonomy. Successful students at this Level can

progress to the LCCI Level 3 Accounting/Accounting (IAS) qualifications. 

Computerised Book-Keeping Skills Level 2

This qualification develops the students’ ability to use a computerised accounting system to set up company information, make journal and ledger entries, carry out stock control processes and process routine payments and receipts. Students for this qualification must have book-keeping and accounting knowledge and skills equivalent to the LCCI Level 2 Book-keeping and Accounts qualification. This qualification is suitable for people who work or intend to work in an accounting role that requires the computerised processing of daily accounting transactions.

Business Calculations Level 2

This qualification is intended for students who have already passed the LCCI Level 1 Commercial Calculations or equivalent. It is specifically designed to provide a suitable foundation for students wishing to progress to LCCI Level 3 Advanced Business Calculations. It also provides a suitable level of skill in business calculation for students wishing to continue in non-quantitative Level 3 LCCI business qualifications, as well as for those intending to perform standard calculations within a business environment and for the student with a general interest in the subject.

Business Administration Level 2

The aims of this Level of the qualification are to enable students to continue to develop their understanding of routine administration, procedures and standards, and standard office equipment. This provides an excellent progression route from the LCCI Level 1 Business Administration and ensures the candidate has considerably improved their ability to understand Business Administration. This qualification is suitable for students who are preparing to work or already work in an administrative support role that requires them to carry out everyday administrative activities with some Level of initiative and business awareness.

English for Business Level 2

This qualification is intended for candidates who have achieved a sound understanding of English in a business context, gained either through previous learning or employment or both, and who are able to communicate in a familiar business situation effectively, and with only minimal assistance or supervision. The qualification consists of a mandatory reading and writing exam and optional speaking and listening exams.

Practical ICT Skills Level 2

The Practical ICT Skills qualifications have been designed to allow learners to develop their practical ability and understanding of key software applications and apply these in a modern business context. The suite of qualifications allows progression from basic skills at Level 1 through to advanced skills at Level 3. All Levels of Practical ICT Skills are endorsed by eskills UK Ltd, the Sector Skills Council (SSC) for IT interests in the UK. A minimum of 2 units from a choice of 5 is required to achieve a Certificate in Practical ICT Skills.
