Introduction

This module is the understanding of the basic principles underlying the recording of business transactions and the ability to prepare and interpret accounts for sole traders, partnerships, non-trading organizations, limited companies and groups of companies in accordance with basic accounting conventions and current accounting practice.

Objectives

The aim of the course is to test the candidate’s understanding of Accounting Information deriving from all sources – manual, mechanical and electronic. This is also to test their ability to prepare Accounting statements and data in accordance with basic accounting conventions and current accounting practice. It allows candidates to appreciate and analyze and interpret accounting statements and data.

Entry Requirements

  • Completed the Pearson LCCI Level 2 Book-keeping & Accounts; Or
  • Completed POA at GCE ‘O’ Level or equivalent OR NITEC/Higher NITEC
  • Language Proficiency: Pass in English at Secondary 2 Level or Equivalent
  • Minimum Age: 16 years

Course Duration

Part-Time:

  • 2.5 months, every Monday & Thursday from 7.00 pm – 9.30 pm, unless otherwise stated
  • Total no of hours: 55 hours or 22 sessions (2.5hrs per session)

Written Exam:

The time allowance for the examination is 3 hours

The examination paper will comprise 5 questions

Candidates are required to answer 4 questions.

No question will be compulsory

Answer Formats

The answers required will be predominantly of a quantitative nature, but some questions

will also require candidates to provide short written answers
