About this Course

COURSE DESCRIPTION

• To provide skills at Level 3 in the National Qualification Framework for those interested in the Beauty Therapy industry.
  
• To provide opportunities for staff in the Beauty Therapy industry to gain a Level 3 qualification.
  
• To qualify candidates as Nail Technicians at Level 3 in the Beauty Therapy industry.
  
• To sustain the interest of candidates waiting to work in the Beauty Therapy industry at Level 3.
  
• To encourage knowledge and understanding for the Beauty Therapy industry at Level 3.
  
• To provide opportunities for candidates to focus on the development of the major Key skills and the winder Key skills in a Beauty Therapy context such as communicating with clients, working with others and problem solving.
  
• To provide opportunities for candidates to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in employment as a nail Technician.
  

RECOGNITION

Upon successful completion, graduates of this programme can be allocated to salons to work as Nail Technician.

COURSE STRUCTURE

The course consists of 3 units with a total of 160 contact hours. Courses are delivered face to face.

Course Structure & Duration

The course can be taken within a minimum period of 5 months for Part Time.

Full Time: 2 Months (160 hours)

Monday - Friday : 10.30am–5.30pm

Part Time: 5 Months (160 hours)

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 7pm–10pm

Assessment and Examination

In-House Examination

ITEC International Examination (must pass 3 Units for certification )

1. Unit 11 Manicure and Pedicure Practical, Theory, Evidence of 5 treatments

2. Unit 20 Nail Technology Practical, Theory, Evidence of 10 nail enhancement tretaments

3. Unit 22 Professional and Business Awareness Theory

75% attendance must be attained to sit for all examination

Entry Requirements

The minimum entry requirements are: 

• At least 16 years old and above 
  
• Secondary level or equivalent.
  
• Proficiency in English or Chinese
  

Graduation Requirements

Candidates must achieve the following requirements in order to graduate from the course:

• · Must attend all lessons with minimum 100% attendance
  
• · Must complete all portfolio evidence on the date given before examination
  
• · Must score minimum of 60% in all theory and practical units
  

Students who successfully complete the examination will be awarded with the (ITEC) Level 3 Diploma by International Therapy Examination Council, UK.
