About this Course

COURSE OVERVIEW

The ITEC Diploma Course for Beauty Specialists provides a thorough understanding of skills in facial treatments, skincare, eye treatments, make-up, manicure/pedicure and waxing for a Beauty Specialist requiring a high level qualification. Beside this, the course covers the topic on Professional Conduct and Business Awareness.

Course Duration 

English/Chinese (Part-Time) : 4.5 months – 2 days per week x 8 hours per day

• 16 years old and above

• Lower Secondary, GCE “N” level, GCE “O” level, Certificate level

Unit 9 Skincare & Eye Treatments

Study of Skin Diagnosis – Hygiene & Sterilization – Identify Contraindication to Facial – Facial Cleansing Techniques – Skin Analysis – Skin Care & Facial Massage – Tinting of Eyelashes & Eyebrows – Eyebrow Shaping – Understanding application of Mask – Understand the structure and function of each organ – Skeletal System – Muscular System – Nervous System – Circulatory System – Case Study

Unit 10 Make-up

Introduction of Cosmetics – Correct use of make-up, Make-up according to occasion, age & skin colour.

Unit 11 Manicure & Pedicure

Study of Nail Structures & Conditions – Use of Products & Tools – Application of Nail Polish

Unit 12 Waxing

Understanding different types of wax – Use of Tools – Hygiene & Precautions for Waxing – Application of Wax onto the skin – Clearing of the area effectively

Unit 22 Professional Conduct & Business Awareness

First Aid – Salon Safety – Hygiene & Sterilization – Client Handling – Business Legislation – Marketing & Advertising

The course is delivered by a well qualified trainer in a classroom and salon environment
