The Advanced Diploma in Digital Media Technology provides students with strong academic knowledge in the areas of digital and creative interactive media applications.The course has been developed to meet the professional and academic needs of graduates of the International Diploma in Digital Media Technology in order that they may have a common knowledge of the digital tools that will be used to support their creative works.

Programme Module Synopsis :

Computer Architecture And Data Communication

This unit gives an overview of computer hardware data communication and networking technology.

Digital Media Effects

This module develops the ability to work with After Effects CS3 Tool.

Discrete Mathematics

This module develops the mathematics needed to underpin the computing modules. 

Film And Video Production

This unit will cover history of film, TV signal time codes and video tape formats, Postproduction preparation, Audio techniques, audio post-production and future treads and visual effects.

Information Management

This unit provides student with a blend of both information systems management concepts as well as data centre management concepts.

Networks And The Internet

The goal of this introductory module is to help students cope with the revolution by providing a conceptual understanding of standard technologies used today in networking for computer communications. This module is structured along the lines of the four layers Arpanet communication architecture: Application, Transport, Network and Physical.

Software Engineering

This unit will cover the principles of software engineering, software life cycle, formal methods and software quality assurance techniques.

Sound Design For Interactive Media

This unit provides an in depth study of the nature of acoustics and difference between Analog and Digital sounds. Practical techniques and appropriate documentation of sound design will be taught. It also emphasizes the importance of Sound in various virtual environments.

Full-time 10 months / Part-time 14 months

Delivery Mode

Each lesson is 3 hours and is conducted in a classroom setting at Informatics Campus.
