About this Course

Introduction

This full-time Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) Higher Certificate in Aerospace Maintenance (Engine/Engine Repair & Overhaul) is designed to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge to perform the role of Aircraft Maintenance Technician specialising in the engine component repair and overhaul field.

WSQ

ATTC is an approved training organisation by WDA for WSQ courses. It is also a training centre approved by CAAS to conduct engineering courses for aircraft maintenance personnel in accordance with Certificate of Approval Number MTO/002.

Industry Need

This course aids newly recruited personnel who have just joined an engine or engine component maintenance workshop, and technicians who are currently working in an engine component workshop. Participants will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment (SOA) upon graduation. A  Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) Higher Certificate in Aerospace Maintenance (Engine/Engine Repair & Overhaul) will be issued by WDA upon successful completion of all 4 required units.

Course Objectives

This course combines Industry Core, Sector Core and 2 Specialisation Electives under the Aerospace MRO Units subsector as well as the core underpinning knowledge required for the industry.

Course Structure

Course syllabus will include theoretical classroom training & practical training made up of WSQ Competency Units.

WSQ Competency Units

  • AR-CCU-201C-1; Perform Basic Aircraft Safety Practices and Documentation (Industry Core)
  • AR-ERO-201G-1; Perform General Engine Workshop Practices (Sector Core)
  • AR-ERO-201E-1; Disassemble and Assemble Engine (Specialisation Elective Core)
  • AR-ERO-203E-1; Inspect Engine Component Parts (Specialisation Elective Core)

Student – Lecturer Ratio

Theory:

The ratio of Lecturer to Students is 1:32 for theory classes

Practical:

The ratio of Lecturer to Students is 1:16 for practical training

Learning And Teaching Methods

All classes will be a mix of lectures and practical skills training

Student Assessment

WSQ courses are assessed by practical assessments

Minimum Entry Requirements

Age: 15 years old

Academic Level: WSQ Employability Skills WPLN Proficiency Level 4 equivalent to Lower Secondary

Language Proficiency: WSQ Employability Skills WPLN Proficiency Level 4 equivalent to Lower Secondary

Graduation Requirements

Upon successful completion and passed all necessary modules assessments, written examinations and practical assessments. Graduates will be awarded the ‘Statement of Attainment for WSQ Higher Certificate in Aerospace Maintenance (Engine / Engine Repair and Overhaul)’ by Singapore Workforce Development Agency

Attendance Requirements

Students must achieve a minimum of 75% attendance for all individual modules
