About this Course

KBA Training (KBAT) is pleased to host an upcoming 'High Voltage Safety Awareness' course that is conducted by MTCS Services (Asia Pacific) Ltd. The training will be held in Singapore whereby MTCS will be utilising KBAT classroom and training facility. This expands our Commercial Diving portfolio for competency development training

MTCS Ltd is a fully accredited training centre and their courses meet the industry requirements as laid down by the trade association IMCA.

The 2-day high voltage courses are the defacto standard for much of the ROV industry, reflecting both industry best practice and current legislation whilst satisfying IMCA R005. The course focuses on the isolation of High Voltage equipment which is an essential requirement prior to maintenance work being carried out. The equipment will be specific to client requirements and may include: ROV systems; Subsea Equipment; Deck Equipment; Dive Systems; Equipment relating to Hydrographic Survey.

The second day consists of a practical assessment on equipment specific to the candidate's requirements.

COURSE MODULES

Day 1: High Voltage Safety Awareness

The first day of the course is classroom-based gives a comprehensive introduction to HV theory, safe working practices, industry “best practice” procedures and major local and global legislation.

Assessment :

Candidates are assessed by ‘open book’ exam.

Certification

Successful completion of day one of the course (or the theoretical elements of the distance learning programme) entitles the candidate to a certificate of “Training in High Voltage Safety Awareness (Knowledge Assessment)”.

Day 2: Practical Exercises and Assessment

Practical experience of high voltage isolation procedures using actual HV equipment under supervision.

Assessment

Candidates are assessed by practical examination.

Certification

Successful candidates will be awarded a certificate of “High Voltage Safe Working Practice (Practical and Knowledge Assessment)”, and successful candidates with suitable technical background and experience may be assessed for a certificate of “Competence in ROV Safe Working Practice” allowing them to work as an Authorised Isolating Authority.
