About this Course

Overview

This is a core module derived from the ‘Certificate in Security Operations’ designed for security personnel. Handle Counter Terrorism Activities provides candidates with the skills and knowledge required to be aware of the terrorist risks and threats, and to identify and handle bomb threats, suspicious persons, vehicles or objects.

For whom

Security personnel, receptionist, mail room handlers and car park attendants 

Learning outcomes:

·         Candidate will be aware of current terrorist risk and threats

·         Candidate will be able to identify suspicious activities through behavioral profiling

·         Candidate will be able to handle situations involving suspicious persons, objects and vehicles

·         Candidate will be able to respond to Bomb Threat calls

·         Candidate will be able to handle post-blast incidents

Course duration and timings

·         3 days ( 26.17 training hours), 0830hrs to 1830hrs daily

·         Summative Assessment by POLWEL – 4th day (2.1 hours)

Entry requirements

·         Minimum Secondary Two education, SPM or NTC 2 (must show certificates) or

·         WPL ESS levels - Listening/ Speaking, Reading/Writing level 4, Numeracy level 5

·         English Literate ( written & spoken)

Certification

·         WSQ Certificate of Attainment issued by Workforce Development Agency (WDA)

·         Certificate of Attendance issued by APRO Training Centre
