About this Course

The General Practitioner's (GP) Assistant Course is designed specifically to prepare anyone who is interested in working in a GP clinic but are worried that they do not have the required skills. Secondly, the course is also intended to raise the level of service provided by the GP clinic to the public. The course is designed to consist of three levels, Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced. A participant without prior experience is advised to start from the Foundational modules. However, a participant who has adequate exposure and experience working in a GP clinic could enrol from Intermediate and progress to the Advanced level as required. The course covers: - Use of edical Terminologies at work - Communication between healthcare professionals and patients - Principles of proper disinfection, decontamination, sterilization including autoclaving in a clinic environment - Drug storage, management, safety and error prevention - Blood glucose monitoring, application of eye ointment, ear drops and nasal spray
