About this Course

Employers are expected to comply with the provisions of the Employment Act, a legislation governing the basic terms and conditions of employment. The Ministry of Manpower will not hesitate to prosecute employers for violations against the Act. If convicted, an offender shall be liable to a fine of up to $5,000 and/or imprisonment for a term of up to 6 months. For subsequent offences, the offender shall be liable on conviction to a fine of up to $10,000 and/or imprisonment for a term of up to 1 year. Employers need to be mindful of their duty of care and not violate the law of the land. This workshop is intended to provide participants with an overview of the key sections of the Employment Act which are relevant to an employer's rights and obligations. 1.
