Upon completion of Diploma in Information Technology, students will acquire a sound, theoretical knowledge in Information Technology (IT) and practical skills in the management of hardware and software development. The student will also aquire programming languages skill such as C programming, database query language, Visual Basic.Net and Java programmingh language to allow student to be competent in application and web-site development as well as the configuration of network and server operating system in today complex business environment.

Programme Module Synopsis :

Operating Systems

In this module, we will look at establishing a small network using an appropriate modern operating system (OS). It will discuss the features of the chosen OS, both with regard to single machines and local area networks (LAN).

C Programming

Upon completion of this module, students will acquire the logical skills required to take on programming modules, and learn to build an application that would help the user to manage and update data.

Visual Basic.Net

This module provides a fundamental grasp of Visual Basic.net for writing Desktop Window applications, and covers database programming using ADO.net, as well as Classes and Objects. Web Publishing With HTML, Javascript And

Java Applets

This project-based module would grant students the freedom of creativity. They would be tasked to create websites using HTML, Javascripts, as well as Java Applets. Students will also learn to create built-in forms, handle web events, and Javascript Objects and Applets

Networking Essentials

In this module, students will gain theoretical knowledge and practical experience on the fundamentals of networking, basic networking systems, and internetworking devices.

Java Programming

This module introduces and exploits the objectoriented features by using Java programming language. Students will also enjoy designing and developing Java-based, file management applications.

Essentials of E-commerce

This module introduces electronic commerce, and contrasts it with the traditional one. It will also explain the international nature of e-commerce, and how the growth of the internet, as well as other significant forces, has catapulted ecommerce to what it is today.

Structured Query Language

This unit will give the student the ability to describe relational aspects of a database management system. This unit covers the fundamental of the relational model design and introduction of structured Query Language (SQL).

Each lesson is 3 hours and is conducted in a classroom setting at Informatics Campus.
