About this Course

As a follow-up to the Certificate in Hairstyling Course, the Diploma course will strengthen your skills with advanced techniques in cutting, perming, colouring and styling.

You will have plenty of opportunities to practice with live models and become accomplished at every advanced skill. Instructors are there to professionally guide your progress but will also allow ample opportunity for you to experiment with an array of styles and develop your signature flair.

Course Structure

The Diploma in Hairdressing is comprised of 11 modules:

  • Style and Dress Hair using a Variety of Techniques 
  • Cut Women’s Hair to Create a Variety of Looks 
  • Colour Hair to Create a Variety of Looks 
  • Hairdressing Consultation Support for Colleagues 
  • Monitor and Maintain Health and Safety Practice in the salon 
  • Human Resource Management 
  • Promote Products and Services to Clients in the Salon
  • Creative Hairdressing Design Skills 
  • Perm Hair to Create a Variety of Looks 
  • Bridal Hairstyling 
  • Hair Extension Services

While on the course, you will take part in practical session working on blocks (mannequin heads) for certain tasks and later on will embarked on supervised practical training with live models in the Contemporary Practical Area, applying what you have learnt in a fully equipped salon-school environment. Theory lessons that come alongside are conducted in the Lecture room.

Course Intake

Course commences first Monday of every month.

Course Entry Requirement

Completed Certificate in Hairdressing / ITEC Level 2 Diploma or 

Minimum 1 year salon experience as a Junior Hair Stylist

Graduation Requirement

Students are required to meet the following criteria in order to graduate and obtain their relevant diploma:

  • Must complete all 11 modules with at least 80% (90% for International students) in attendance
  • Able to perform 1 internal practical assessment to create an image with either cut and colour / cut and perm / upstyle
  • Must achieve at least 80% in terms of live model requirement
Progression

At the end of the course, you will be able to use the knowledge and skill learned to enter the industry and take your place in the industry as a Qualified Stylist.

Course Awards

Upon meeting all Graduation Requirements, you will graduate with a Diploma in Hairdressing awarded by Kimage Hairdressing School. If you choose to register and pass the ITEC Examination, you will be awarded the ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing.
