By the end of the course, the participants would be able to recognize common safety and health hazards, and understand the measures to avoid injuries and diseases in construction work. This course also helps to create an awareness of the dangers at the construction sites and enable workers to understand their role in the prevention of accidents.


Course contents:

1.Identify legal obligations in workplace safety and health

2.Identify hazards in a construction site

3.Understand the Permit To Work system

4.Practice safety precautions (includes risk assessment) and response when working with different hazards, including Fire emergencies

5.Competent in wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

6.Able to understand and recognize all industrial safety signs.

7.Able to work safely at Height

8.Know the dangers and precautionary measures associated with confined space operations

9.Know the rights and responsibilities of workers working in Singapore.


Legal Requirement

For Construction Workers, effective from June 2001:

Any worker employed in manual labour to carry out construction work in building and engineering construction worksites must attend Construction Safety Orientation Course first before they are allowed to work


Entry Requirements

100% attendance is required. Latecomers are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED into the class. 

Trainees must bring along any one of the following documents (photocopy or original) to be allowed to attend the class

Work permit 

IPA and Passport

NRIC / S Pass / Employment Pass.

Trainees must wear Safety Shoes and properly attired (No Singlet/Shorts/Bermudas).
