STRUCTURE AND CONTENT

This Certificate consists of 4 modules and the modules are well-spread into four terms. You will study one module in each term and you can complete this program within 8 months.

These modules in this certificate program include:

  • Counselling Theories
  • Counselling Ethics
  • Counselling Skills
  • Group Counselling

DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT METHODS

The curriculum is taught over 4 terms of 8 weeks with each term covering 1 subject. Each subject of this part-time programme will be delivered over a 8-week cycle comprising 32 contact hours. Classes are 4 hour sessions held 1-2 times weekly.

Each subject will be formally assessed by written assignments (50%) and an examination (50%). Students must attend at least 75% of the classes to qualify for the examination.

GRADUATION AND DIPLOMA

Students who successfully completed the programme will be awarded with Certificate in Counselling awarded by Kaplan Higher Education Institute, as appropriate. Certificate graduates can then move on to pursue with our Diploma Program.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Direct entry for ‘N’ Level, ‘O’ level, Nitec, Higher Nitec, ‘A’ level or other equivalent qualifications. Mature candidates also can apply.
