Course Description

The Workplace Safety and Health (Construction) Regulations require all site supervisory staff to be trained in occupational health and safety (OHS) supervision. 


Course Content

Introduction to the legal requirements and implications of the WSH Act, regulations, approved code of practice (ACOP) and other legislations.

Risk management, hazard identification, risk evaluation, risk control measures, implementation and communication.

Accident prevention concept, tips, incident investigation, emergency preparedness and 1st aid regulatory requirements.

Role and responsibility of a supervisor

Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSHMS 14 elements)

Hazards and precaution involving activities such as demolition, piling, excavation, scaffolding, work at height, hot work, lifting, electrical works and fire prevention.

Case studies and more ….. Valuable lessons can be learned from discussion on real life case studies.

Course Duration : 34 hours


Examination : 2 hours (100 multiple choice questions) and 2 hours Assessment

Site supervisory staff, supervisor, foreman and senior worker who aspire to be supervisors.

Assumed skills and knowledge

Workplace literacy and numeracy Level 4 under Employability Skills System or equivalent (Secondary 2 and above) 


Passing Criteria

65% overall for MCQs and 65% passing grade for other modes of assessment (as stipulated by Ministry Of Manpower )
