Course Description

Do you know that working on / near / adjacent to the road is as dangerous as working in a construction site? There have been numerous incidents involving public motorists and site workers; effective roadwork competency safety is the solution to preventing unnecessary accidents.

Under Code of Practice requirements, only trained & competent personnel are allowed to be involved in roadwork related / traffic control & be fully conversant with safe methods of placing, operating, maintaining and removing devices on the road.

This course will cover effective practices based on the “Land Transport Authority’s Code of Practice: Traffic Control at Work Zone”, as well as worker and public safety.

  • Introduction to LTA Code of Practice Traffic Control at Work Zone
  • Introduction to relevant safety Acts and Regulations
  • Worker and public safety
  • Traffic Safety Signage / Devices and usage
  • Channelizing and delineation devices
  • Procedure in effective lane closure
  • Traffic Controller operation requirement (Building and road work Construction projects)
  • Manual operated STOP/GO operation practical/ Assessment

This course is suitable for all workers involved in roadwork, traffic control working on / near / adjacent to the road or construction site access (especially those involved in roadwork projects/ building construction traffic controllers).
