About this Course

Overview

Electronic Engineering with Communications produces engineers to work at the forefront of the communications industry, developing technologies for mobile, wireless and high-speed communication.

The overall aim of this course is to furnish you with a detailed understanding of the principles of electrical engineering, electronics, and telecommunications, enabling the rational selection of the most appropriate approach to solve engineering problems. It provide a broadly based education in electrical engineering, electronics, communications engineering and design allowing scope for entry into a wide range of disciplines within the engineering field.

WHAT WILL I LEARN

Upon programme completion, students in BEng in Electronics and Communications Engineering will be able to design and synthesise electronic and telecommunications products, systems, and processes, and  demonstrate an innovative approach to design realisation. Evaluate a range of solutions to engineering problems, drawn from a broad-based knowledge of electronics, electrical engineering, communications engineering and cognate engineering disciplines.

  • You will gain the knowledge to select and apply appropriate mathematical methods to solve problems in the analysis and synthesis of electronics and communications engineering systems.
  • You will learned the software packages for design, analysis, and synthesis applications and critically evaluate the results. 
  • You be taugh to contribute to teamwork effectively and ethically, addressing the prominent engineering, social, environmental, and commercial issues.

Entry Requirement

Applicants aged 19 years or older are eligible to enter the top-up degree programme with one of the following qualifications:

  • A relevant Auston Higher Diploma
  • Singapore government Polytechnic Diploma in relevant fields
  • NQF Level 5 qualification
  • Relevant equivalent qualification from recognised institutions
  • Non-related Diploma will be assessed on a case-by-case basis
  • Applicants whose first language is not English or whose previous qualification was not taught and assessed in English must provide evidence of attainment in English Language by achieving an IELTS 6 or an equivalent qualification.
