About this Course

This Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Early Childhood Care & Education offerred by Warwick University. This is a 22-month part-time degree programme fully taught by the University’s faculty with face-to-face classroom contact in Singapore. Candidates would have had to successfully completed the validation modules (Top-Up or bridging modules) prescribed by the University prior to commencement of the third year of the degree programme.

This degree course examines a range of areas and disciplines which focus on the education, development and welfare of the young child. It builds upon student’s knowledge achieved through observation and practical experience and provides a comprehensive understanding of those theoretical issues which inform practice.

Course Objectives

  • deepen and extend students' knowledge and understanding of child development
  • provide students with a knowledge of the fundamental theories which underpin early childhood policies and initiatives
  • develop students' awareness of the importance of roles played by different professionals in the childcare field
  • enable students' to gain knowledge and understanding of the different professionals in the childcare field
  • provide opportunities for students to critically appraise their experiences of early years settings, locating them in a socio-cultural context

Assessment

A combination of assignments, practical assessments and examination across all modules for honors degree classification.

Award of Certificate

Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded the prestigious Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Early Childhood Care & Education by the University of Warwick.

This degree will be the same as that granted to on-campus students of the University. Graduates will be allowed to use the title BA (Hons) after their names.

1. WSQ Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education,accredited by ECDA & WDA and Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education (Route B) awarded by The University of Warwick

2. WSQ Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education, accredited by ECDA & WDA and Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education (Route A) awarded by The University of Warwick
